The Nera River, which gives the Valnerina its name, offers some of the best stretches for rafting and canoeing in all of central Italy. The routes between Ferentillo and Arrone do not require prior experience: guides lead groups, immediately taking on the current safely, with technical gear provided on site.
For those seeking more adrenaline, there are routes with more challenging rapids, and for the most daring, hydrospeed — descending by swimming with only a board. The area's specialized centers also offer canyoning and kayaking, in a natural setting of gorges and woods that has remained almost untouched.
