The Nera River, which gives its name to the Valnerina, offers some of the best stretches for rafting and canoeing in central Italy. The descents between Ferentillo and Arrone do not require previous experience: guides accompany groups, immediately tackling the current safely, with technical equipment provided on site.
For those seeking more adrenaline, there are routes with more challenging rapids, and for the most daring, hydrospeed — descending by swimming with only a board. The area's specialized centers also offer canyoning and kayaking, in a natural environment of gorges and woods that has remained almost untouched.
